Projection Arts Festival
M
oCA L.I.ghts transforms downtown Patchogue into Long Island’s only immersive, open-air museum with site-specific projected installations on both modern and historic architecture throughout the downtown. I have been a featured projection artists for four consecutive years, leading interactive experiences for the public in addition to showcasing new works and collaborations with other artists.
LE FEMME DADA
COLLABORATIVE LIVE PROJECTION ART
“L
e Femme Dada” series brings to light several lesser-known works by women of the DADA movement. Suzanne Duchamp (1889-1963), younger sibling to Marcel Duchamp, was a painter, collagist and sculptor considered to be a significant contributor to the development of Dada in Paris and is often referred to as “Le Femme Duchamp”.
Baroness Elsa Von Freytag-Loringhoven (1874-1923) is theorized to have perhaps been the original art provocateur behind “Fountain”, the scandalous urinal sculpture by Marcel Duchamp that was rejected from the 1917 Society of Independent Artists exhibit in NYC, now considered one of the most influential pieces of 20th-century art.
The United Methodist Church has been on MoCA Lights Festival tour since the event was first held in 2020. It is conveniently located on the corner of S Ocean Ave and Church St, one block South of Main St. and one block West of the Patchogue Gallery on Terry St.
Constructed in 1889 in the Romanesque Revival style, this church — with its magnificent stained glass rose window — is a beloved architectural jewel of downtown Patchogue. It was added to the National Registry of Historic Places in 1984.
“The arts have the power to reach inside of people and change the molecular structure from the inside out.”
